Eric MacLeish and a colleague get off an elevator, head out.

ERIC: All right. That'll be fun.

Eric MacLeish sees Robby and Sacha are sitting in the lobby waiting for him.

ERIC: You know what, I'll catch up with you, okay?
있잖아, 금방 따라갈게, 응?
catch up with you:  따라 잡다. 말 그대로 무언가를 따라잡는 것을 말하기도 하고 누군가를 만나는 것을 가리키기도 한다. 누군가를 만나는게 그동안 못봤던 것들을 따라잡는 거니까.

MAN: We're good.

(The colleague heads off)
동료가 떠난다.

ERIC: Guys, I am really sorry, I am, I don't have time to talk now... But if you call my assistant...

SACHA: (interuptting) Mr. MacLeish. We have reason to believe that there are allegations against as many as 87 priests in Boston.

allegation /alɪˈɡeɪʃ(ə)n/ 협의. 정황. 진술. a claim or assertion that someone has done something illegal or wrong.

reason to believe. allegations against preists. 등을 보면 영어는 어떤 말 뒤에 그걸 설명하는 말이 나와. 이걸 의미단위라고 할게. 영어는 기본적으로 이런 의미단어 들이 이어서 나오는 구조야.

crap /krap/ something of extremely poor quality. 영어에 자주 나오는 말 중요 하나야.

ROBBY: Eric, how many priests did you settle?
Eric, 얼마나 많은 신부들을 합의해 줬어?
settle /ˈsɛt(ə)l/ resove or reach an agreement about. 합의하다. 이 녀석은 이사나 직장을 옮기는 것을 이야기할 때는 정착하다, 적응하다 등의 의미로 쓰이곤 해. 그러니까 기본적인 뜻은 아직 안정이 안 된 것은 안정되게 만드는 것을 의미한다고 보면 될 것 같아.

ERIC: Robby, you know I can't tell you that.
Robby, 너 알지 내가 말할 수 없는 걸.

ROBBY: You're gonna give me the names. And the names of their vicitims.
너 줄거야 나한테 그 이름들. 그리고 피해자 이름들.
이런 상황에서 you're gonna give는 미래라기 보다는 '너 줘야할거야' 정도의 의미에 가까워. 문맥을 잘 봐봐.

MacLeish is absolutely dumbfounded. He has never seen Robby angrier than this.

ERIC: Are you threatening me?

threat는 명사, threaten은 동사. 위협/협박/겁주다.

ROBBY: We've got two stories here.

ERIC: (turning back) Check your goddamn clips, Robby.

Robby and Sacha remain still watching MacLeish leaving.

SACHA: We didn't find anything in the clips.

ROBBY: Yeah. Big surprise.
