Sacha walks up to a door. She knocks. A kindly looking older man (Ronald Paquin) in a checkered shirt answers the door.

SACHA: Hi there. I am looking for Ronald Paquin.

get off my porch: to leave a place, usually in order to start a jouney. Notice that there is no 'from' after 'off'.
get off 다음에 from을 안쓰는 걸 눈여겨 보고 연습해. get off my porch를 한단어 처럼.

RONALD: I can speak for myself.
나도 혼자 말할 수 있어.

Jane: Get inside the house, Ron.

Jane  slams the door  and Sacha retires. She turns back and reaches the sidewalk and is visibly shaken by the  encounter , two boy's racing in bikes in the street.

encounter /ɪnˈkaʊn.tər/ a meeting, especially one that happens by chance. 우연히 마주치다. = come across. bump into.

BOY1: Beat you to the end of the street.
너를 이길거야 길거리 끝까지.
to the end of the street 도 한단어 처럼 취급하자.

BOY2: No, you won't. I beat you last time.
아니, 넌 못할걸. 내가 널 이겼잖아 지난번에.
beat는 때리다. 시합과 관련해서는 '격파하다'의 어감과 비슷해. win은 '(승리를) 얻다/따내다'에 가깝고. win the final 하면 '결승에서 이기다', '우승하다'의 의미가 되는 거고. win a lottery는 '복권에 당첨되다'이고.

BOY1: No, you didn't, you cheated.
아니 너 못이겼어. 속임수를 썼지.
속이는 행위는 cheating이라고 해. 그래서 시험문제를 훔쳐보는 걸 cheating이라고 해.
