Mike and Matt sit with Ben and Steve Kurkjian at the game. A called third srike and the crowd groans. Mike drinks a cup of beer.

BEN: Jesus. Has anybody but Manny gotton the ball out of infield?

MATT: (scoring the game) Nope.
(점수를 기록하며) 아니오.

MIKE: (to Matt) Why do you even bother with that thing?
(Matt을 보며) 왜 그것가지고 씨름하는 거야?

MATT: It distracts me from the game.
그게 딴데 정신을 팔게 하거든 게임으로 부터. 
이 말은 자기가 응원하는 팀이 경기를 너무 못해서, 기록하는 거라도 해야 될 것 같다는 의미야.
distracts me from the game 경기로부터 딴 데 신경써... distract의 반대는 attract 쯤 될거야.

Steve holds up an empty beer cup.

STEVE: Know what else is good for that?
알아 뭐 다른게 좋은지 그거에?
경기가 안풀릴 때는 기록하는 거 말고 뭐가 좋냐는 의미? 사진을 보면 맥주컵을 들고 말하고 있어. 즉, 술이나 한잔 더 해야 되겠다는 의미지.

Matt stands up and turn to three of them to ask if they want anything?

MATT: Oh, yeah. Good idea. My round. I'll be right back. Anybody want any food?
좋은 생각이야. 내 차례네. 금방 돌아올게. 누구 뭐 먹을 사람?

MATT: No.

STEVE: I'm all set.
난 빵빵해.
all set = full. 배가 꽉 찬...

MATT: Hey, a hot dog.

Matt walks down the stairs. It's a break time between innings. Everyone begins to talk freely.

BEN: (to Mike) So, you guys making any progress?
(Mike에게) 근데, 자네 팀 진척은 있어?

MIKE: Absolutely. It's a good story.
당연하죠. 좋은 기사감이예요.

BEN: Why? Because you're another lapsed Catholic pissed off at the church?

MIKE: We've got a lot of good stuff.

Mike glances over at Steve but he's looking straight ahead.

STEVE: I'm just watching the game.
난 그냥 경기 보는 중인데.

omerta는 비밀을 발설하지 않는다는 약속 같은 거래. 범죄조직 같은 데서 자주 사용하는 용어라네.

MIKE: I got another priest, Liam Barett.
또다른 신부가 있어요, Liam Barett 이라고.

STEVE: We reported on him.
그에 대한 기사를 냈었어.

Mike wheels around quickly to face Steve.

STEVE: I'm just saying, we did.
그냥 그랬다는 거지.

MIKE: Okay, but this guy was shuffled around from parish to parish every few years... just like Geoghan and Porter.
그래요, 하지만 이 사람은 교구를 이리 저리 옮겨다녔어요 몇년 마다. 마치  Geoghan이나 Porter 처럼.

BEN: (blunttly) Sounds thin. What else you got?

MIKE: Sacha's got another guy from a victim's organisation, Phil Saviano.
Sacha가 찾아 냈어요 또 다른 사람을 피해자 단체에서. Phil Saviano죠.

STEVE: (sneering) From SNAP? (snorts) Oh, boy, we reported on him, too.
(어이없다는 듯) SNAP이라고? (콧방귀를 뀌며) 이봐, 그것도 보도했다고.

MIKE: I thought you were watching the game, Steve?
난 니가 경기 관람한다고 생각했는데, Steve?

STEVE: That guy's pretty banged up, Mike.
그 친구 상당히 골치 아팠다구, Mike.
banged up (술해 엄청 취했거나 해서) 제정신이 아닌. 

BEN: We did a couple of stories on him. They guy would not stop writting letters.
우린 기사 한 두개를 다뤘어. 그는 멈추려고 하지 않았어 편지(투서) 쓰는 걸.

STEVE: He wants a holy war.

MIKE: What? So, he is not worth talking to?

BEN: Robby said MacLeish thinks he's bluffing.

MIKE: I think there's something there, Ben.

BEN: Get me something solid, or I'm taking you off it.
뭔가 확실한 걸 내놓지 않으면, 손 떼게 할거야.
