INT. GLOE, NEWSROOM - DAY

Unlike outside, everyone's busy in the newsroom. Ben strides across the room, Robby falls in.

ROBBY: Mr. Bradlee.

Ben: Hey. Saw the PD numbers. Looks interesting.
PD numbers story 봤어. 흥미롭던데. 
Looks interesting = It looks interesting.  이렇게 looks, sounds, smell, tastes, feel 의 다섯가지 감각을 나타내는 동사와 상태를 같이 쓰는 형태의 표현의 엄청나게 자주 등장해. looks interesting (보기에 흥미로워) sounds interesting(듣기에 흥미로워) smell interesting(냄새 맡기에 흥미로워) 등등. 참고로 내가 흥미를 느끼는 것은 interested이고 흥미로운 대상인 것은 interesting 이다. 
I'm interested in it. 나 관심있어 그거.
I'm interesting. 난 흥미로운 인간이야. she' interesting. 그년 흥미로운 사람이야.

ROBBY: Yeah, there is something there.
거기에 뭔가 있죠.
우리 말과 같은 의미의 말이야. 뭔가 숨기는 게 있어.

BEN: How long do you need?
얼마나 필요해?

ROBBY: Another week.
한주 더요.
another week = one more week.

BEN: Where're you going?
어디가는 거야?

ROBBY: 10:30.
10시 30(분 미팅)요.

BEN: Since when?
언제부터(미팅에 참석했어)?
since when은 위와 같은 맥락에서 쓸 수 있어. 뒤에 나올 말을 다 생락해도 앞에서 이미 이야기 했기 때문에 상대방이 알아들을 수 있어. 

ROBBY: Techincally, I am an editor.
따지고 보면, 전 편집장인데요.
technically: 엄밀히 말하면. 기술적으로 말하면. 따지고 보면.

BEN: Technically. Your sitdown with Baron go that well?
엄밀히 말하면 그렇지. Baron하고 앉은 거는 잘 됐어?
sitdown with Baron: Baron과의 면담.
go that well: 잘 진행돼... that이 들어가서 '그만큼 잘됐어?'의 어감처럼 만들어 주고 있어.

ROBBY: I couldn't get a read on him.
읽을 수가 없었어요 그사람을.
read on him: 그의 생각을 읽어.

BEN: That's a first.
그거 처음이네.
문장 통째로 상황과 함께 한단어 처럼 연습하자. 

ROBBY: How about you?
어때요 당신은?

BEN: Oh, he's a barrel of laughs.
그는 한가득한 웃음이야.
 a barrel of laguhs: 아주 유쾌한 사람이나 물건.
